Viṣṇu’s Yoga-māyā and the Limits of Ascetic Power
सभाजितो भगवता सादरं सोमया भव: । सूपविष्ट उवाचेदं प्रतिपूज्य स्मयन्हरिम् ॥ ३ ॥
sabhājito bhagavatā sādaraṁ somayā bhavaḥ sūpaviṣṭa uvācedaṁ pratipūjya smayan harim
The Supreme Personality of Godhead welcomed Lord Śiva and Umā with great respect, and after being seated comfortably, Lord Śiva duly worshiped the Lord and smilingly spoke as follows.
This verse shows mutual honor: Lord Viṣṇu respectfully receives Śiva, and Śiva reciprocates with reverence, highlighting harmony and devotion centered on Hari.
Śiva’s smile reflects affectionate reverence and confidence in approaching the Lord, as the narrative is moving toward the discussion of Mohinī-mūrti and Viṣṇu’s divine līlā.
Offer sincere respect, receive others graciously, and reciprocate honor—especially in spiritual discussions—so relationships remain grounded in humility and devotion.
