umāyā nairṛte bhāge brahmadevarṣisaṃsthitaḥ | tasyotpattiṃ pravakṣyāmi sarvapātakanāśinīm
在乌玛(Umā)圣所的西南方位,住有梵天圣仙(Brahmadevarṣi)。如今我将宣说他的起源——此叙述能灭除一切罪垢。
Īśvara (Śiva) (continued discourse)
Tirtha: Brahmadevarṣi (near Umā shrine)
Type: kshetra
Scene: Near Umā’s shrine in the south-west quarter, a revered liṅga named Brahmadevarṣi stands; a narrator begins the origin tale as listeners sit with folded hands, the air charged with purificatory promise.
Remembering and hearing tīrtha-origin narratives is itself purificatory, dissolving even grave sins through sacred remembrance.
The locale near Umā’s shrine in Prabhāsakṣetra, where Brahmadevarṣi is established.
Śravaṇa (listening) is implied as the purifying act, since the origin account is declared “destroyer of all sins.”
