यत्र प्राप्तवती कामं सुकन्या वरवर्णिनी । सरःस्नानप्रभावेन तेन कन्यासरः स्मृतम् । तत्र स्नाता शुभा नारी तृतीयायां विशेषतः

Transliteration

yatra prāptavatī kāmaṃ sukanyā varavarṇinī | saraḥsnānaprabhāvena tena kanyāsaraḥ smṛtam | tatra snātā śubhā nārī tṛtīyāyāṃ viśeṣataḥ

Translation

在那处，肤色明丽的苏甘尼娅（Sukanyā）凭借于湖中沐浴之威力，得遂所愿；因此此湖被称念为“迦尼娅萨罗”（Kanyā-saras，少女之湖）。凡贤善之女于此沐浴——尤以月相第三日（tṛtīyā）为胜——必得吉祥之果。
