कृष्णपक्षे चतुर्दश्यां स्नानं च विहितं सदा । पिण्याकेंगुदकेनापि पिंडं तत्र ददाति यः । पितॄणामक्षयं भूयात्पितृलोकं स गच्छति
kṛṣṇapakṣe caturdaśyāṃ snānaṃ ca vihitaṃ sadā | piṇyākeṃgudakenāpi piṃḍaṃ tatra dadāti yaḥ | pitṝṇāmakṣayaṃ bhūyātpitṛlokaṃ sa gacchati
在黑半月（kṛṣṇa-pakṣa）第十四日，沐浴之戒恒常被教令。凡在彼处献上祭团（piṇḍa）者，即便以掺有油饼渣（piṇyāka）之水供献，也能为祖灵带来不朽之利益，而其人将往祖灵世界（Pitṛloka）。
