当时在彼处,千年既过,他修行苦行;以此苦行之力,使商羯罗(湿婆)亲自显现于前,得以直接瞻见。
Śiva (Īśvara)
Tirtha: Prabhāsa-kṣetra (tapas-sthāna leading to Śaṅkara-darśana)
Type: kshetra
Listener: Devī (Pārvatī)
Scene: After a thousand years of austerity at Prabhāsa, Candra stands emaciated yet radiant in tapas; Śaṅkara appears directly before him, luminous and compassionate, granting vision.
Sustained tapas, especially when undertaken at a holy kṣetra, culminates in direct realization—Śiva’s darśana.
Prabhāsakṣetra, the ‘there’ where long austerities ripen into divine manifestation.
Tapas (austerity) over an extended period is highlighted as the discipline leading to divine encounter.
