siṃhasthe ca gurau viprā godāvaryyāṃ tu yatphalam | tatphalaṃ snānamātreṇa gomatyāṃ kṛṣṇasannidhau
Sūta (deduced from Prabhāsa Khaṇḍa narration)
Tirtha: Gomatī (Dvārakā)
Type: ghat
Listener: viprāḥ (brāhmaṇas)
Scene: Pilgrims bathing in the Gomati with Dvārakā temple visible; a subtle celestial motif of Jupiter and Leo appears as a comparison cloud, while Kṛṣṇa’s presence radiates from the shrine.
Dwārakā’s Gomati is exalted as so potent that simple bathing there equals famed astrological pilgrimage merits elsewhere.
The Gomati river at Dwārakā, explicitly tied to Kṛṣṇa’s presence.
Snāna (ritual bathing) in the Gomati is prescribed as highly meritorious.
