prahlāda uvāca | tato gaccheddvijaśreṣṭhāstīrthaṃ viṣṇupadodbhavam | yasya darśanamātreṇa gaṃgāsnānaphalaṃ labhet
普罗诃罗陀曰:于是,噢最胜婆罗门,当往那由毗湿奴足所涌现的圣地(tīrtha)。但凭一见,便得沐浴恒河之果报。
Prahlāda
Tirtha: Viṣṇupadodbhava / Vaiṣṇavī tīrtha
Type: kund
Listener: Dvija-śreṣṭhas (brāhmaṇas)
Scene: Prahlāda instructs brāhmaṇas to proceed to a luminous spring/pond marked as ‘Viṣṇupadodbhava’; the water glows as if descending from a divine footprint; pilgrims gaze reverently.
Certain Vaiṣṇava tīrthas are so sanctified that even darśana (sacred seeing) grants the merit of major purificatory rites.
The Viṣṇupadodbhava tīrtha—described as originating from Viṣṇu’s foot—within the Dvārakā Māhātmya landscape.
Go to that tīrtha; even its darśana is prescribed as spiritually efficacious (equated to Gaṅgā-snāna merit).
