यक्ष्मोवाच । तीर्थेऽस्मिंस्तावके देव सदाहं तपसि स्थितः । तिष्ठामि यदि वादेशस्तावको जायते मम
yakṣmovāca | tīrthe'smiṃstāvake deva sadāhaṃ tapasi sthitaḥ | tiṣṭhāmi yadi vādeśastāvako jāyate mama
夜叉摩说道:“噢,神明啊,在这属于你的神圣渡口(tīrtha)中,我恒常安住于苦行(tapas)。若真为我指派一处属于你境域的居所,我便愿留在此。”
Yakṣma
Type: kshetra
Listener: Śaunaka and the Naimiṣāraṇya sages (frame); within story, the addressed deity/Brahmā hears Yakṣma
Scene: Yakṣma speaks humbly: an ascetic figure at the tīrtha, emaciated yet radiant from tapas, requesting a sanctioned dwelling-place; the deity/authority listens, poised to assign jurisdiction.
Even afflictive forces are restrained by divine order and redirected through tapas and rightful placement.
The verse explicitly speaks of ‘this tīrtha’ in the Yakṣma-tīrtha origin account within Hāṭakeśvara-kṣetra Māhātmya.
No direct ritual is prescribed here; it frames the tīrtha’s sanctity through Yakṣma’s continued tapas and the request for an assigned place.
