darśanānmama bhaktyā ca nāśo vyādhidaridrayoḥ | praṇāmātsvargamāpnoti śrutvā mokṣaṃ ca nityaśaḥ
Bhāskara (Sūrya/Āditya)
Type: temple
Scene: A pilgrim approaches the deity, visibly afflicted, then shown healed and uplifted after darśana; next panel shows full prostration leading to a celestial ascent; final panel shows a seated audience listening to the mahātmya, with a serene light indicating mokṣa.
Simple devotional acts—seeing, bowing, and hearing—carry transformative power, from worldly relief to ultimate freedom.
The benefits are framed within the chapter’s Bhaṭṭāditya tīrtha context, where darśana is especially potent.
Darśana with devotion, praṇāma (prostration), and regular śravaṇa (hearing/recitation of the māhātmya).
