श्राद्धांते ते च प्रत्यक्षा ह्याशिषो मे वदंति च । ततः कदाचित्पितरः प्रहृष्टा मामथाब्रवन्
śrāddhāṃte te ca pratyakṣā hyāśiṣo me vadaṃti ca | tataḥ kadācitpitaraḥ prahṛṣṭā māmathābravan
在施行完施罗陀(śrāddha)之后,他们便现于眼前,甚至向我说出祝福之语。后来有一次,我的祖灵(Pitṛ)欢喜地对我说道如下。
Devaśarmā
Tirtha: Gaṅgā-sāgara-saṅgama
Type: sangam
Listener: Pitṛs (as immediate interlocutors in the next verse) / broader Purāṇic audience
Scene: At the close of śrāddha, luminous ancestral figures appear before the performer, offering spoken blessings; the ritual space shows remnants of offerings, kuśa, and water-vessels; atmosphere charged with sacred wonder.
Śrāddha performed with faith is portrayed as so efficacious that ancestral grace becomes tangible—through blessings and inner assurance.
The verse continues the Gaṅgāsāgara context indirectly, emphasizing the śrāddha’s fruit rather than naming a new site.
Completion of śrāddha and the associated tarpaṇa to Pitṛs, resulting in blessings.
