अन्यत्रापि हि यो लिंगं समर्चयति सन्मतिः । तस्यापि वांछितं देयं किंपुनर्योविकाशिकम्
anyatrāpi hi yo liṃgaṃ samarcayati sanmatiḥ | tasyāpi vāṃchitaṃ deyaṃ kiṃpunaryovikāśikam
即便是在别处以正信恭敬供奉林伽的贤慧之人,也应得所愿之赐;何况是在迦尸礼敬者,更当如何!
Śiva (Devadeva)
Tirtha: Kāśī (Avimukta-kṣetra)
Type: kshetra
Listener: Tvāṣṭra/Viśvakarman and/or the assembled interlocutors of the chapter (contextual)
Scene: A devotee offers bilva leaves, water, and flowers to a Śiva-liṅga; behind, the luminous skyline of Kāśī with ghāṭs and temple spires suggests the ‘how much more in Kāśī’ escalation of grace.
Worship of Śiva’s Liṅga is fruitful everywhere, but Kāśī magnifies the merit and hastens the granting of boons.
Kāśī (Vārāṇasī), celebrated as a uniquely potent field for Śiva-worship.
Samarcana—proper worship/adoration of the Śiva-liṅga, with the implication that doing so in Kāśī yields superior results.
