斯坎达说道:自那时起,噢“瓶生”阿伽斯提耶,此林伽便名为“毗耶伽雷湿伐罗”(Vyāghreśvara)。在阇耶湿提湿伐罗之北,唯见之或触之,皆能除怖。
Skanda
Tirtha: Vyāghreśvara
Type: kshetra
Listener: Agastya (Kumbhodbhava)
Scene: Skanda instructs Agastya (Kumbhodbhava) about the naming of Vyāghreśvara; a compact Kāśī lane with a small liṅga-shrine, Jyeṣṭheśa indicated to the south; devotees approach for darśana and sparśa, their fear dissolving.
Kāśī’s Śaiva sacred geography is salvific: darśana and sparśa of the Liṅga are themselves fear-dispelling acts.
Vyāghreśvara Liṅga in Kāśī, located to the north of Jyeṣṭheśa.
Darśana (seeing) and sparśa (touching) of the Vyāghreśvara Liṅga are stated as spiritually efficacious.
