若一人之气息昼夜不断地由南鼻孔(右鼻孔)流行,则其余寿命将持续消减;确然在三年之内便告耗尽。
Skanda
Tirtha: Kāśī
Type: kshetra
Scene: A contemplative sādhaka seated near a Gaṅgā-ghāṭa at dawn, fingers near the nostrils as if testing breath-flow; behind him rises a silhouette of Viśvanātha’s śikhara; the atmosphere is tense yet inwardly calm.
Be mindful of life’s impermanence and use such warnings to intensify dharma, japa, and devotion rather than complacency.
The teaching belongs to the Kāśī Khaṇḍa context—Kāśī (Vārāṇasī) as the supreme field of liberation where awareness of death leads to earnest sādhana.
No explicit rite is prescribed here; it gives an omen based on the continuous flow of breath through the southern nostril.
