गोसहस्रवधं पापं श्रुतिरेषा सनातनी । हृदि सस्नेह भावेन चेद्द्रक्षेत्स्त्रियमेकदा
gosahasravadhaṃ pāpaṃ śrutireṣā sanātanī | hṛdi sasneha bhāvena ceddrakṣetstriyamekadā
此乃恒古的圣传(闻传)教诫:若心怀染爱之情,哪怕仅一次以欲意凝视女子,其罪等同于屠杀千头母牛。
Skanda
Tirtha: Kāśī
Type: kshetra
Scene: A saffron-clad bhikṣu in a narrow Kāśī lane averts his eyes, holding a kamaṇḍalu and daṇḍa; behind him, household life continues—women drawing water, lamps at doorways—while a subtle dark aura symbolizes inner temptation and its karmic weight.
For a renunciant, inner intention matters: attachment in the heart is treated as a grave breach of brahmacarya.
The verse occurs within Kāśī Khaṇḍa’s dharma teaching, framing Kāśī as a place for strict inner purity.
A restraint-rule: do not entertain affectionate/attached gaze or intention; maintain strict celibate discipline.
