Skanda
Tirtha: Gaṅgā-ghāṭas of Kāśī (tarpaṇa context)
Type: ghat
Listener: Śaunaka and ṛṣis (frame)
Scene: At a Gaṅgā-side ghat in Kāśī, a dvija performs tarpaṇa with water in cupped hands, then offers a small portion of fresh cooked food to devas and pitṛs; nearby, a household scene shows respectful distance and restraint around someone eating.
Tejas is protected by modesty and reverence: honor the divine and the ancestors first, and keep disciplined senses in daily life.
Kāśī is the setting (Kāśīkhaṇḍa), where ancestor rites and daily purity are treated as especially potent.
Tarpana/satisfaction of Pitṛs and Devas before eating freshly cooked food.
