सद्भिश्च संगतिर्नित्यं मैत्री च पितृमित्रकैः । इतिहासपुराणानामुत्कंठा श्रवणे सदा

Transliteration

sadbhiśca saṃgatirnityaṃ maitrī ca pitṛmitrakaiḥ | itihāsapurāṇānāmutkaṃṭhā śravaṇe sadā

Translation

常与善人相交；亦与父亲之友结为友善；并恒怀渴慕，乐听《伊提哈萨》（史诗传说）与《普拉那》（Purāṇa）——此皆被称颂为护持法（dharma）之依止。
