śrīmārkaṇḍeya uvāca | tato gaccheddharāpāla bhārgaleśvaramuttamam | śaṅkaraṃ jagataḥ prāṇaṃ smṛtamātrāghanāśanam
圣者马尔坎德耶曰:其后,大地的守护者啊,当往至胜妙的婆伽勒湿伐罗——商羯罗,世间之气息;唯忆念之,罪即消灭。
Śrī Mārkaṇḍeya
Tirtha: Bhārgaleśvara
Type: kshetra
Listener: King (dharāpāla)
Scene: Mārkaṇḍeya instructs the king to proceed to the eminent Bhārgaleśvara; a Śiva-liṅga shrine near the Revā, with pilgrims approaching in devotion.
Pilgrimage joined with remembrance of Śiva is exalted: even mental recollection of Śaṅkara is said to destroy sin.
Bhārgaleśvara, a Śiva-kṣetra praised within the Revā Khaṇḍa (Narmadā pilgrimage circuit).
A pilgrimage instruction is given—“one should go” to Bhārgaleśvara; remembrance (smaraṇa) of Śaṅkara is highlighted as spiritually efficacious.
