Suta Goswami (narrating an esoteric Shaiva teaching with injunctions on eligibility/adhikāra)
Tattva Level: pasha
Shiva Form: Dakṣiṇāmūrti
Significance: Reinforces the ethics of transmission: only those aligned with ‘highest good’ (ati-kalyāṇa) should receive the teaching, preventing dilution and spiritual harm.
Role: teaching
It teaches adhikāra (spiritual eligibility): profound Shaiva truths are fruitful only when received by a disciplined seeker devoted to the highest good, otherwise they may be misunderstood and become spiritually unhelpful.
Linga-worship and Saguna Shiva devotion require inner reverence, purity, and steadiness; this verse emphasizes that such practices and their deeper meanings should be guided and shared with those prepared to honor them properly.
The implied practice is guarded transmission and sincere sādhanā—approach a competent Shaiva teacher, maintain purity and devotion, and receive mantra/meditation instructions (such as Panchākṣarī japa) only when properly qualified.
