śivapriyaḥ śivāsaktaśśivayorarcakassadā | satkṛtya śivayorājñāṃ sa me diśatu kāṃkṣitam
愿那位奉献者——为湿婆所爱,心融于湿婆,恒常礼敬神圣双尊湿婆与湿婆妃(Śiva–Śivā)——恭敬遵奉二圣之命,赐我所愿之恩。
Suta Goswami (narrating the Vayaviya discourse to the sages of Naimisharanya)
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Umāpati
Significance: Highlights worship of the Divine Couple (Śiva–Śivā) and obedience to their ordinance as a path to receiving desired fruits; in Siddhānta terms, grace (anugraha) flows through right worship (kriyā) and devotion (bhakti).
Type: stotra
Shakti Form: Pārvatī
Role: nurturing
Offering: naivedya
It praises the ideal Shaiva devotee—one who is absorbed in Shiva, worships Shiva with Shakti, and follows their divine injunctions—indicating that such alignment with Pati’s will becomes the channel for grace and the fulfillment of righteous desires.
The verse emphasizes continual worship (arcana) of Shiva together with Shakti, which in practice includes Saguna worship such as Linga-puja performed with devotion and obedience to scriptural and guru-given injunctions (ājñā).
Regular Shiva arcana with disciplined observance of Shiva-Shakti’s injunctions—such as mantra-japa (especially the Panchakshara), and daily puja in a spirit of reverence and surrender—so that worship becomes a vehicle of grace.
