怖畏罗(Bhairava)赤身而立,双手高举,执三叉戟、羂索、利剑与颅钵;其周围环绕着诸怖畏罗、成就的悉地者,以及诸瑜伽女(Yoginī)。
Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Bhairava
Sthala Purana: The verse is a dhyāna-style iconographic snapshot of Bhairava with his gaṇa-retinue (Bhairavas), siddhas, and yoginīs; it is not tied here to a specific Jyotirliṅga origin episode.
Significance: Invokes Bhairava as kṣetrapāla (guardian) whose fierce grace removes obstacles and protects Śiva-bhaktas, especially in liminal/cremation-ground symbolism.
Type: stotra
Shakti Form: Kālī
Role: destructive
It portrays Saguna Shiva as Bhairava—the Lord who cuts bondage (pāśa) and grants siddhi and protection—surrounded by yogic powers (Siddhas) and Śakti-forces (Yoginīs), indicating that Shiva is the Pati (Lord) of all energies and paths of yoga.
Though Linga worship often emphasizes Shiva’s formless transcendence, this verse highlights Shiva’s manifest (Saguna) protective aspect as Bhairava; both point to the same Supreme—Nirguna in essence, Saguna in compassionate revelation for devotees.
The imagery supports Bhairava-upāsanā with disciplined mantra-japa (including Panchakshara, as appropriate), meditation on Shiva as the remover of fear, and traditional Shaiva aids like Tripuṇḍra (bhasma) and Rudrāksha to steady the mind toward liberation.
