Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Role: teaching
It presents Shiva (Pati) as inseparable from His Śakti, indicating that the Lord’s functions and revelations operate through ordered divine powers—radiance, subtlety, victory, auspiciousness, manifest glory, and purity—guiding the soul (paśu) toward liberation.
In Saguna worship, the Liṅga is approached as the living presence of Shiva along with His Śaktis; this verse supports the understanding that devotional and ritual approach to the Liṅga invokes not only Shiva’s transcendence but also His operative energies that purify and illumine the devotee.
Meditate on Shiva as united with Śakti—invoking purity (Vimalā) and divine glory (Vibhūti); practically, this aligns with japa of the Pañcākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) with Tripuṇḍra bhasma and inward contemplation of Shiva’s subtle, purifying power.
