Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Significance: Observance of parvan-tithis with fasting and recitation is presented as a means to accrue spiritual merit and partial siddhi of the stotra’s promised fruit.
Type: stotra
It teaches that recitation becomes most transformative when joined with artha-anusandhāna (contemplation of meaning) and vrata (disciplined observance), aligning the devotee (paśu) toward Shiva (Pati) through purified intention and restraint.
Fasting on parvan tithis and reciting with focused understanding supports Saguna Shiva worship—typically performed before the Shiva-linga with offerings—so that external ritual is accompanied by inner bhāva and steady remembrance of Shiva.
Upavāsa (fasting) on parvan days—especially Aṣṭamī or Caturdaśī—combined with attentive recitation and contemplation of the teaching’s meaning; this is a practical vrata aligned with Mahāśivarātri-style discipline.
