Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Dakṣiṇāmūrti
Role: liberating
It describes the inner yogic ascent where the bound soul (paśu) transcends elemental bondage (pāśa) through disciplined prāṇa and is finally united with Śiva’s light (Pati), indicating liberation by Śiva’s grace and realization.
The verse presents internal worship: the yogin rises through suṣumnā and merges the awakened consciousness into Śiva’s tejas—an inward counterpart to external Liṅga worship, where Saguna devotion matures into experiential union with the Lord’s presence.
A prāṇāyāma-based meditation: restraining prāṇa, piercing the bhūta-granthi, directing awareness through suṣumnā to the crown (brahmarandhra), and contemplating union with Śiva’s radiance—supported by mantra-japa and steady mudrā (as implied by astramudrā).
