Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Īśāna
Role: teaching
Cosmic Event: Mapping of the adhvan (cosmic path/series of levels) and its pervasion by Śiva, Vidyā, and Ātman in graded order.
It teaches that Śiva (Pati) is both transcendent beyond the highest states and immanent within all levels of existence; liberation arises by recognizing His pervasion through Vidyā (right knowledge) and Ātman (inner realization).
Linga-worship trains the mind to see Śiva as present in all tattvas and worlds (immanence) while also honoring Him as Para, beyond all categories; thus Saguna devotion becomes a doorway to realizing Nirguna-transcendence.
Meditate step-by-step (kramāt) on Śiva’s pervasion from the gross to the subtle—supporting this with japa of the Panchākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) and inner inquiry into the Ātman as Śiva’s presence.
