Tattva Level: pasha
Shiva Form: Paśupatinātha
Significance: Highlights expiatory and purificatory acts (pādodaka-dāna etc.) as means to attenuate pāśa (mala/karma) and restore ritual fitness for Śiva-dharma.
Role: nurturing
Offering: naivedya
It emphasizes that sin is purified through disciplined, dharmic acts—especially offerings connected to sacred presence (pādodaka)—supporting the Shaiva aim of inner cleansing (mala-kṣaya) as a step toward Shiva’s grace.
Pādodaka commonly arises from ritual worship—water sanctified through contact with the divine or the guru—so the verse supports Saguna Shiva practice where outward offerings aid inward purification and readiness for higher knowledge.
Perform purification through offerings such as pādodaka and allied observances (charity, service, and regulated conduct), undertaken with devotion and purity of intention as part of Shaiva dharma.
