पशु-पाश-पतिविचारः / Inquiry into Paśu, Pāśa, and Pati
स्वभावमेके मन्यंते कालमेके विमोहिताः । देवस्य महिमा ह्येष येनेदं भ्राम्यते जगत्
svabhāvameke manyaṃte kālameke vimohitāḥ | devasya mahimā hyeṣa yenedaṃ bhrāmyate jagat
有人以为那只是自性(svabhāva),也有人迷惑地以为是时间(kāla)。然而这实为天主(Deva)的威德,由此令整个世界被推动而运转回旋。
Suta Goswami (narrating the Vāyavīya teaching to the sages of Naimiṣāraṇya)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Mahādeva
It redirects causality away from blind “nature” or impersonal “time” and affirms Pati (Lord Shiva) as the conscious sovereign power whose śakti makes the jagat function—supporting devotion and surrender as the path beyond delusion.
The Liṅga signifies Shiva as the transcendent ground and the immanent governor of cosmic processes; worship of Saguna Shiva trains the mind to see time and nature as dependent powers, ultimately rooted in the Lord’s mahimā.
Meditate on Shiva as the inner ruler of kāla and svabhāva while repeating the Pañcākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya), offering water to the Shiva-liṅga, and applying Tripuṇḍra-bhasma as a reminder that all motion and change rest in Him.
