当毗湿奴显现宇宙之相(毗湿瓦鲁帕,Viśvarūpa)时,大圣者达提契在战阵中与之相遇;而那位仙人亦亲自取同一形相,挺身而出与之对峙。

Tattva Level: pashu
It emphasizes that divine power is not merely a display of form; a purified, disciplined sage can confront even cosmic manifestations through tapas and inner mastery—pointing to Shaiva Siddhanta’s stress on purification of the pashu (bound soul) by right discipline and grace.
By showing that even exalted forms like Viśvarūpa are still ‘forms,’ the verse indirectly supports the Shaiva understanding that saguna worship (including Linga-upasana) is a valid, stabilizing means—leading the devotee beyond fascination with appearances toward the Lord who transcends all forms.
The takeaway is steadfast tapas with mantra-japa and dhyana: daily Panchakshara japa (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) with mental steadiness, supported by Shaiva disciplines like Tripuṇḍra (bhasma) and Rudrākṣa, to cultivate inner strength rather than dependence on outward power.
