在那里,通晓吠陀者恒常以辩论之力与纷争之辞击败那些被逐出吠陀正道的人;而好争过甚者,亦为言语本身所折服。

Sthala Purana: The verse describes polemical safeguarding of Vedic orthodoxy in the satra-setting; it is not tied to a specific jyotirliṅga site.
It warns that mere verbal victory and constant disputation do not confer liberation; Shaiva teaching emphasizes inner purification and turning toward Pati (Shiva) rather than being bound by prideful argument.
Linga-worship centers on reverence, discipline, and devotion; the verse contrasts that spirit with divisive polemics, implying that true approach to Saguna Shiva is through bhakti and right conduct, not combative speech.
Adopt restraint of speech and steadiness of mind, and replace quarrelsome talk with japa—especially Panchakshara ("Om Namaḥ Śivāya")—supported by simple Shaiva observances like bhasma and focused meditation.
