Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Rudra
Significance: Niṣkāma-śravaṇa/pāṭha of an aiśvara-vrata is said to yield Rudraloka-prāpti and proximity to Rudra as an anucara (sevā-bhāva), a classic Purāṇic phalaśruti emphasizing bhakti purified of desire.
It teaches that desireless devotion (niṣkāma-bhakti) expressed through recitation or attentive listening to Śiva’s sacred observances leads to Śiva’s grace—culminating in reaching Rudraloka and living in divine service to Rudra.
The verse emphasizes accessible Saguna worship—hearing and reciting Śiva’s vrata-glory as a devotional act. Such śravaṇa and pāṭha support steadfast bhakti toward the manifest Lord (often worshipped as the Liṅga), ripening the soul toward communion with Śiva.
The direct practice is śravaṇa (listening) and pāṭha (recitation) of Śiva-vrata teachings with a niṣkāma attitude. As a Shaiva takeaway, pair this with japa of the Pañcākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) and simple vrata discipline to deepen devotion.
