देवस्तुतिवर्णनम् (Deva-stuti-varṇana) — “Description of the Gods’ Hymn/Praise”
सनत्कुमार उवाच । इत्युक्तं वचनं तेषां श्रुत्वा सहरिवेधसाम् । विहस्यांतस्तदा ब्रह्मन्महेशः पुनरब्रवीत्
sanatkumāra uvāca | ityuktaṃ vacanaṃ teṣāṃ śrutvā saharivedhasām | vihasyāṃtastadā brahmanmaheśaḥ punarabravīt
萨那特库玛罗说道:听罢他们——哈利(毗湿奴 Viṣṇu)与韦陀诃斯(梵天 Brahmā)——所言,摩诃提婆(Maheśa)心中含笑,又再次开口说道,噢,婆罗门。
Sanatkumara
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Mahadeva
Role: teaching
It highlights Maheśa as the serene, inwardly established Lord (Pati) who responds with calm mastery after hearing even the highest deities—Brahmā and Viṣṇu—affirming Shiva’s role as the guiding consciousness in divine deliberations.
By naming Maheśa directly in a narrative dialogue, the verse supports Saguna devotion—worshipping Shiva as the personal Lord who speaks, guides, and blesses—an entry point that culminates in Linga-upāsanā and remembrance of Shiva’s grace.
A practical takeaway is śravaṇa (devotional listening) and smaraṇa (remembrance): listen to Shiva-kathā, then silently contemplate Shiva’s composed presence—optionally while repeating the Pañcākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya.”
