Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Mahādeva
Type: stotra
It highlights Shiva’s supreme, all-knowing status (Pati) and teaches that sincere inner approach (manasā) and heartfelt praise are valid and powerful forms of devotion, even for the highest deities.
The verse emphasizes stuti and reverent approach to Śaṅkara as a personal Lord (Saguna). In Shiva Purana practice, such praise naturally accompanies Linga worship, where the devotee offers devotion through mind, speech, and hymns.
Manasā-pūjā (mental worship) and stotra-japa (recitation of hymns) are implied—approaching Shiva inwardly, then praising Him verbally, which pairs well with Panchakshara japa (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) in daily worship.
