शिवस्तुतिवर्णनम् (Śiva-stuti-varṇanam) — “Description of Hymns in Praise of Śiva”
सनत्कुमार उवाच । इति स्तुत्वा महेशानं देवास्तु पुरतः स्थिताः । कृतांजलिपुटा दीना आसन् संनतमूर्तयः
sanatkumāra uvāca | iti stutvā maheśānaṃ devāstu purataḥ sthitāḥ | kṛtāṃjalipuṭā dīnā āsan saṃnatamūrtayaḥ
萨那特库玛罗说道:如是赞颂大自在天(摩诃伊舍那)之后,诸天立于其前;合掌恭敬祈求,神情卑下而忧惧,形体俯伏以示归顺。
Sanatkumara
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Īśāna
Type: stotra
It highlights śaraṇāgati (surrender): after praising Shiva, even the devas stand humbly with folded hands, showing that grace (anugraha) is sought through devotion and submission to Pati (Lord Shiva).
The verse depicts direct, personal devotion to Maheśāna (Saguna Shiva). In Linga-worship, the same inner attitude is essential—stuti followed by añjali and bowed presence before Shiva as the accessible Lord who grants protection and liberation.
Practice namaskāra with añjali (joined palms) after reciting Shiva-stuti or the Panchākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”), cultivating humility and focused remembrance of Shiva’s protecting presence.
