शिवस्तुतिवर्णनम् (Śiva-stuti-varṇanam) — “Description of Hymns in Praise of Śiva”
त्वमादिस्त्वमनादिश्च स्वानंदश्चाक्षयः प्रभुः । प्रकृतेः पुरुषस्यापि साक्षात्स्रष्टा जगत्प्रभुः
tvamādistvamanādiśca svānaṃdaścākṣayaḥ prabhuḥ | prakṛteḥ puruṣasyāpi sākṣātsraṣṭā jagatprabhuḥ
你是万有之始,却又无始;你即自性之乐,乃不坏之主。你亲自为造化之因,甚至创造了原质(Prakṛti)与灵我(Puruṣa),并为宇宙之主宰。
A devotee/warrior in the Yuddhakhaṇḍa offering praise to Lord Shiva (as narrated by Suta Goswami)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Significance: Affirms Śiva as jagat-prabhu and sākṣāt-sraṣṭā; for pilgrims/devotees, this grounds trust that the Lord who transcends beginnings also governs worldly order and liberation.
Mantra: त्वमादिस्त्वमनादिश्च स्वानंदश्चाक्षयः प्रभुः । प्रकृतेः पुरुषस्यापि साक्षात्स्रष्टा जगत्प्रभुः
Type: stotra
Role: creative
Cosmic Event: Cosmogonic assertion: Śiva as direct source even of prakṛti and puruṣa (tattva-origination theme).
It declares Shiva as Pati—the supreme Lord who is both the source of all beginnings and yet beyond time—self-blissful and imperishable, the direct cause behind the cosmos and liberation.
By calling Shiva the manifest Creator and Lord of the universe, the verse supports Saguna worship (such as the Shiva Linga) as a valid focus for devotion, while also affirming His beginningless, transcendent nature.
Meditate on Shiva as “anādi” and “akṣaya” while repeating the Panchākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya); offer water and bilva to the Linga with the bhāva that He alone is the inner ruler of Prakṛti and the soul.
