Gajāsura’s Austerities and the Disturbance of the Worlds

स इत्थं निर्जितककुबेकराड् विषयान्प्रियान् । यथोपजोषं भुंजानो नातृप्यदजितेन्द्रियः

Transliteration

sa itthaṃ nirjitakakubekarāḍ viṣayānpriyān | yathopajoṣaṃ bhuṃjāno nātṛpyadajitendriyaḥ

Translation

因此，即使征服了四方之主并获得心爱之享乐之物，他仍随意沉溺其中；然而由于诸根（indriya）未被降伏，他从未得到满足。从湿婆派的立场看，若不制御诸根，外在的胜利不能带来寂静（śānti）；唯有对湿婆的虔敬与内在的克制，方能趋向解脱。
