शङ्खचूडवधकथनम् / The Account of Śaṅkhacūḍa’s Slaying
आसंस्तस्या दनोः पुत्रा बहवो बलवत्तराः । तेषां नामानि नोच्यंते विस्तारभयतो मुने
āsaṃstasyā danoḥ putrā bahavo balavattarāḥ | teṣāṃ nāmāni nocyaṃte vistārabhayato mune
噢,牟尼圣者,檀奴有许多儿子,皆极其强盛。其名不在此处一一宣说,恐篇幅过于铺陈。

It signals that worldly power and vast lineages (even of mighty beings) are secondary to the Shiva-centered purpose of the Purana; the narrator keeps focus on the dharmic and Shaiva teaching rather than exhaustive catalogues.
Indirectly: by streamlining the battle genealogy, the text preserves attention on Shiva’s saguna interventions and the unfolding of divine order, rather than on enumerating every demonic branch.
No specific rite is prescribed in this verse; the practical takeaway is disciplined focus (ekāgratā)—prioritizing essential Shiva-dharma such as japa of the Panchākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) over distraction by excessive details.
