噢圣者,那名为苏达摩的牧牛人——乃奎师那亲近侍从中最为卓越者——进入了她的胎中;此事缘于罗陀所发的诅咒。

It highlights the Purāṇic principle that embodied birth can arise from karmic causes such as a śāpa (curse), illustrating how the bound soul (paśu) is drawn into embodiment through pāśa (binding conditions) until liberated by right knowledge and grace.
Though the verse narrates a Vaiṣṇava-associated figure, the Shiva Purana uses such episodes to underscore the universality of karmic law and the need for refuge in Saguna Shiva—worship of the Liṅga, mantra, and devotion—so that binding causes like śāpa and saṃsāra are transcended.
A practical takeaway is to reduce karmic bondage through Shaiva sādhanā—daily japa of the Pañcākṣarī ("Om Namaḥ Śivāya"), Liṅga-pūjā with bhakti, and purificatory disciplines such as bhasma (tripuṇḍra) and Rudrākṣa—cultivating inner steadiness beyond the push of fate and curse.
