जलंधरयुद्धे मायाप्रयोगः — Jalandhara’s Māyā in the Battle with Śiva

Role: liberating
It highlights Śiva’s līlā: though Pati (the Supreme Lord) is untouched by agitation in essence, he adopts human-like concern to honor love, dharma, and relational devotion—teaching that the Lord is compassionate and responsive within the devotional world.
The verse emphasizes Saguna Śiva—God with attributes—who engages emotionally in divine play for the sake of devotees. Linga worship similarly approaches the transcendent Lord through a tangible, worshipable form that accepts offerings and responds with grace.
A practical takeaway is bhakti with steadiness: worship Saguna Śiva through japa of the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) while maintaining compassionate awareness—remembering that Śiva’s grace meets sincere devotion.
