It shows how Shiva’s divine order (his gaṇas and sons) intervenes when dharma is threatened—symbolizing that devotion to Pati (Shiva) steadies and protects the devotee when inner “demonic” forces overwhelm the mind.
Nandin, Gaṇeśa, and Skanda are attendants and manifestations of Saguna Shiva’s compassionate governance. Remembering them alongside Linga-worship reinforces the idea that the formless Lord supports devotees through accessible divine forms and protectors.
Invoke Shiva’s protection through japa of the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) and mentally place Nandin, Gaṇeśa, and Skanda as guardians—supporting steadiness in sādhanā, especially with bhasma (tripuṇḍra) and rudrākṣa as Shaiva disciplines.
