Cause and Background
सनत्कुमार उवाच । इत्युक्तस्स तु दैत्येन्द्रो गुरुणा भार्गवेण ह । द्रुतं जगाम यत्रासावास्ते चैवाद्रिराट् च सः
sanatkumāra uvāca | ityuktassa tu daityendro guruṇā bhārgaveṇa ha | drutaṃ jagāma yatrāsāvāste caivādrirāṭ ca saḥ
萨那特库玛罗说道:在师尊婆尔伽瓦如此教诲之后,那位阿修罗(代提耶)之王迅速前往山岳之王阿德里罗特所居之处。
Sanatkumara
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Dakṣiṇāmūrti
Role: teaching
It highlights the force of guru-upadeśa (authoritative instruction): even powerful beings act decisively when guided, showing that right counsel and disciplined action are essential supports on the path toward Shiva’s grace and ultimate liberation.
Though the verse is narrative, it reflects a core Shaiva principle: approach to Saguna Shiva (through Linga worship, mantra, and ritual) is traditionally grounded in proper guidance and scriptural instruction—devotion becomes effective when aligned with dharma and right method.
The implied takeaway is to seek guru-guided sādhana: daily japa of the Panchākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) with Tripuṇḍra and Rudrākṣa, performed with promptness and steadiness, rather than hesitation.
