Description of the Viṣṇu–Brahmā Dispute and Brahmā’s Confusion
नारायणं महाबाहुं सर्वव्याप कमीश्वरम् । मन्नाभिपद्मतस्त्वं हि प्रसूतो नात्र संशयः
nārāyaṇaṃ mahābāhuṃ sarvavyāpa kamīśvaram | mannābhipadmatastvaṃ hi prasūto nātra saṃśayaḥ
噢,臂力雄伟的那罗延那,遍在的主宰——你确实从我脐中莲华而生;对此毫无疑惑。
Brahma
Tattva Level: pashu
Cosmic Event: Lotus-from-navel cosmogony invoked as proof of hierarchical origin within the sṛṣṭi narrative.
It frames cosmic hierarchy: even the great preserver Nārāyaṇa is described within a created order, implying an ultimate source beyond such roles—aligned with Shaiva Siddhanta where Pati (Śiva) is the supreme cause and regulator of creation, preservation, and dissolution.
By highlighting that Brahmā and Viṣṇu function within manifested creation, the text points devotees toward worship of Śiva as the transcendent yet accessible Lord—often approached through the Śiva-liṅga as Saguna support for realizing the Nirguna Supreme.
Contemplate Śiva as the ultimate Pati behind all cosmic functions and steady the mind with japa of the Pañcākṣarī—“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”—as a daily practice to transcend doubt and ego-based notions of supremacy.
