Description of the Viṣṇu–Brahmā Dispute and Brahmā’s Confusion
तथाभूतमहं दृष्ट्वा सदसन्मयमात्मना । नारायणं महाबाहु हर्षितो ह्यभवं तदा
tathābhūtamahaṃ dṛṣṭvā sadasanmayamātmanā | nārāyaṇaṃ mahābāhu harṣito hyabhavaṃ tadā
见到那般状态的那罗延那——我于自心中体悟:他正是显现(sat)与未显(asat)二者之精髓——于是当时,噢大臂者,我满怀欢喜。
Brahmā (narrating his direct realization/vision)
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Role: teaching
Cosmic Event: Pre-creation/creation threshold: Brahmā’s inward cognition (ātmanā) of sat-asat essence
It highlights inner realization (ātmanā) of the Supreme as the ground of both the manifest and unmanifest, indicating that true knowledge brings spontaneous joy and steadiness in the midst of creation’s dualities.
Though Nārāyaṇa is named, the Sṛṣṭi narrative in Rudra Saṃhitā frames the cosmos as arising from the one Supreme Reality; Linga-worship similarly trains the mind to see the Saguna symbol as pointing to the Nirguna source beyond sat/asat distinctions.
Meditate inwardly on the indwelling Self (ātmanā) while repeating a Shiva-mantra such as the Pañcākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya), cultivating the vision of one Reality underlying both seen and unseen.
