reje tadā vīrabhadrastriśūlaṃ bhrāmayankare | kruddhā raṇākṣasaṃvartāḥ prajvālya parvatopamāḥ
其时,毗罗跋陀光辉赫然,手中旋舞三叉戟。因忿怒,那些如战场恶魔般的凶猛军势炽然燃起——巍然若山,以可怖的末劫之怒焚腾。
Sūta Gosvāmi (narrating to the sages of Naimiṣāraṇya)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Vīrabhadra
Shakti Form: Satī
Role: destructive
Cosmic Event: saṃvarta (pralaya-imagery invoked as a simile for wrath)
It portrays Rudra’s śakti manifesting as Vīrabhadra: not mere anger, but dharmic correction—dissolving egoistic sacrificial pride and restoring reverence to Pati (Shiva), the supreme Lord.
Vīrabhadra is a Saguna expression of Shiva’s governance (niyati) and protection; worship of the Liṅga trains the devotee to honor Shiva beyond outward ritual display, preventing the “Dakṣa-like” error of excluding the Divine.
Meditate on Shiva as the inner ruler while chanting the Pañcākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” offering bhasma (Tripuṇḍra) and cultivating humility—so one’s actions become yajña aligned with Shiva rather than ego.
