It highlights that yogic accomplishment can render the body extraordinarily resilient, but in Shaiva Siddhanta its deeper meaning is that all powers ultimately operate through Shiva’s anugraha (grace) and disciplined inner control, not egoic force.
Such yogic power is portrayed as a byproduct of alignment with Shiva’s order; Linga/Saguna Shiva worship emphasizes surrender and purity, showing that siddhis are secondary to devotion and liberation-oriented practice.
Steady dhyāna (meditation) and yoga-niyama (discipline) are implied; practitioners may pair this with japa of the Panchākṣarī mantra “Om Namaḥ Śivāya” to seek steadiness and Shiva’s grace rather than mere power.
