Devas and Śiva’s Gaṇas Engage in Battle
तव श्रीरुद्रशपथोल्लंघने शक्तिरस्ति किम् । को वा त्वमसिको वा ते रक्ष कोस्ति जगत्त्रये
tava śrīrudraśapathollaṃghane śaktirasti kim | ko vā tvamasiko vā te rakṣa kosti jagattraye
你当真有力量去违犯向圣鲁陀罗(Śrī Rudra)所立的神圣誓言吗?你究竟是谁——在这三界之中,又有谁是你的护持者?
Sati (addressing Daksha’s side, challenging the arrogance against Shiva’s vow and authority)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Rudra
Shakti Form: Satī
Role: teaching
It asserts that Rudra’s vow is inviolable and that worldly pride cannot override divine dharma—Shiva as Pati remains the ultimate authority and refuge across the three worlds.
By emphasizing Rudra’s sovereign protection and law, it supports Saguna Shiva devotion—approaching Shiva (often as the Linga) as the sure refuge when social status or human alliances fail.
A practical takeaway is steadfast vow-keeping and taking refuge in Shiva through japa of the Panchakshara mantra (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”), along with simple Shaiva observances like Tripuṇḍra (bhasma) and daily remembrance of Rudra.
