Satī Inquires about the Departure for Dakṣa’s Sacrifice
ब्रह्मोवाच । एवमुक्ता तदा तेन महेशेन मुनीश्वर । सांजलिस्सुप्रणम्याशु सत्युवाच प्रभुं शिवा
brahmovāca | evamuktā tadā tena maheśena munīśvara | sāṃjalissupraṇamyāśu satyuvāca prabhuṃ śivā
梵天说道:“噢,诸牟尼中最胜者!当大自在天(摩诃提婆)如此问她时,萨蒂立刻合掌深深礼拜,随即对她的主宰湿婆启言。”
Brahma
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Mahādeva
Shakti Form: Satī
Role: teaching
It highlights the Shaiva ideal of śaraṇāgati (reverent surrender): Satī’s folded hands and deep bow show that true spiritual dialogue begins with humility before Pati (Śiva), the supreme Lord.
Though the Liṅga is not named here, the posture of añjali and praṇāma reflects standard Saguna-Śiva worship—approaching the Lord with devotion, respect, and readiness to receive instruction.
Practice namaskāra with añjali before Śiva—begin japa (e.g., the Pañcākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) or pūjā after a mindful bow, cultivating inner humility and attentiveness.
