दक्षयज्ञे मुनिदेवसमागमः / The Gathering of Sages and Gods at Dakṣa’s Sacrifice

Sūta Gosvāmin (narrating the Dakṣa-yajña episode to the sages of Naimiṣāraṇya)
Tattva Level: pasha
Shiva Form: Mahādeva
It highlights the spiritual danger of śiva-droha—contempt for Śiva and His devotees. In Shaiva Siddhānta, such arrogance veils right understanding and leads to downfall, whereas humility and reverence toward Pati (Śiva) and His bhaktas purify the soul.
Dakṣa’s hostility foreshadows rejection of Śiva’s worship (including Liṅga-upāsanā) as inferior. The narrative teaches that honoring Saguna Śiva (the accessible, worshipful form) with devotion is essential; scorning Him invites spiritual and karmic consequences.
The takeaway is to avoid offense and cultivate devotion: daily pañcākṣarī-japa (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) with reverence for Śiva and respect for sādhus; if one has erred, perform repentance (kṣamā-prārthanā) and worship with bhasma/Tripuṇḍra as a reminder of humility.
