सती-शिवचरित्रप्रसङ्गः / The Account of Satī and Śiva’s Divine Conduct
Prelude to Detailed Narrative
लीलारुचित्वादथ वा संघटेताऽखिलं च तत् । कुरुते यद्यदीशश्च सती च भवरीतिगौ
līlārucitvādatha vā saṃghaṭetā'khilaṃ ca tat | kurute yadyadīśaśca satī ca bhavarītigau
又或者,只因祂的神圣戏游(līlā)所喜,主宰便能摄合并安立这一切秩序。至上自在主所行之事——萨蒂亦复如是——二者皆随顺既定的“有”(bhava,世间生成之流)而运转。
Suta Goswami (narrating the Rudra Samhita account to the sages)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Sthala Purana: Frames the Dakṣa-yajña sequence as līlā: the Lord ‘arranges’ the entire chain of events for cosmic pedagogy—humbling pride, revealing dharma, and culminating in grace.
Shakti Form: Satī
Role: teaching
It teaches that cosmic events unfold by Īśvara’s līlā and governance; the Lord remains free while beings experience bhava according to the world-order, encouraging surrender and devotion rather than anxiety over outcomes.
By affirming Īśvara as the conscious Lord who ‘arranges all,’ it supports Saguna worship—especially Linga-upāsanā—as a direct means to approach the divine governor behind all worldly processes.
Cultivate śaraṇāgati (surrender) through japa of the Panchākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” offering actions and results to Śiva, and maintaining steady remembrance that all unfolds under His līlā and niyati (ordained order).
