Lord Shiva (Parameśvara)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Shakti Form: Satī
Role: teaching
It establishes Śiva as the perfectly truthful Pati (Lord) whose instruction is “yathārtha” and “na-chhala,” indicating that divine guidance is meant to remove confusion and align the devotee with dharma and liberation-oriented understanding.
By emphasizing Śiva’s transparent, compassionate speech and the devotee’s reverent response (praṇāma), the verse supports Saguna devotion—approaching Śiva as the personal Lord who teaches, blesses, and is honored through respectful surrender, central to Purāṇic Śaiva worship including Liṅga-upāsanā.
The practical takeaway is śravaṇa (attentive listening to Śiva-kathā) coupled with praṇāma (reverent salutations). As a Shaiva practice, this can be paired with mantra-japa—especially “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”—while maintaining sincerity (nacchala) and devotion (prītyā).
