It lists core forms of Shiva-bhakti—hearing, chanting, remembrance, service, humble self-offering, worship, and salutation—showing that steady devotion to Pati (Shiva) purifies the soul (paśu) and loosens bondage (pāśa), leading toward grace and liberation.
Practices like arcana (formal worship) and vandana (prostration) are directly performed before the Shiva Linga as Saguna Shiva, while śravaṇa, kīrtana, and smaraṇa sustain inner worship—uniting external ritual with inward contemplation of Shiva’s presence.
Daily arcana and vandana to Shiva (often before the Linga), supported by śravaṇa-kīrtana of Shiva-kathā and smaraṇa through japa—especially the Panchakshara mantra “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”—as continuous remembrance and service.
