众人离去之后,主宰亦与她同在,逍遥嬉游;他与达叉之女萨蒂同享幽秘静处之乐,心中大欢喜。
Sūta Gosvāmī (narrating to the sages of Naimiṣāraṇya)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Umāpati
Shakti Form: Satī
Role: nurturing
It portrays Śiva’s līlā with Satī: though the supreme Pati (Lord) is ever free, he expresses divine joy through sacred companionship, indicating that the divine can be both transcendent and lovingly present without being bound by passion or karma.
The verse highlights Saguna Śiva—God with attributes—who participates in divine play for the upliftment of devotees. Such narratives support personal devotion (bhakti) to Śiva, which in practice is often centered on Liṅga worship as the accessible form of the transcendent Lord.
A takeaway is cultivating inner purity and devoted remembrance (smaraṇa) of Śiva through japa of the Pañcākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” keeping one’s worship inward and steady—like a “rahasya” (private) communion of the heart.
